I’m super excited to team up with Pure Pit Balm to offer a giveaway to 3 of my readers! Giveaway is open to Canada/USA so keep reading to learn more.

Natural deodorant might be one of those things you’ve considered switching to. There is some looming concern out there whether its safe to use traditional antiperspirant/deodorant in the long run. Here’s an article titled: “Are Antiperspirants Bad For Me?” and through your own research, I encourage you to decide whether its worth it to switch. But here’s the deal, many don’t switch because they aren’t sure if it’ll actually work. I was in the same boat! I tried at least 3 natural deodorants in the past and they simply did not work. I could smell my own body odor before I even started my workout! Ewww, no thanks! Fortunately there are a few out there I’ve tried and they actually work! Pure Pit Balm is one I’m happy to recommend, as I use it daily and have been for over a month and it works very, very well! I apply it in the morning and usually do my workout. This stuff lasts for me all day even after a workout if I’m not able to have a shower right after (it happens! lol). I only re-apply it after I’ve had a shower, and again in the morning as I always do.

For the record, deodorant and antiperspirant are different. One of the ingredients that’s considered to be toxic in antiperspirant is aluminum, and this is what blocks your pores from sweating. When using deodorant, you will still sweat, but something like Pure Pit Balm will eliminate the body odor smell. Its important to note that our bodies are supposed to sweat, its how we eliminate toxins, so don’t be scared or embarrassed to sweat cause everybody does it! Some people sweat more than others. When I’m at the gym, I see people with t-shirts that are soaked, and some with only a few sweat spots. Natural deodorant is also a great option for kids that are reaching puberty, especially if you’re concerned about long term safety of other products. You can feel good about giving them a natural option.

Pure Pit Balm has 2 scents, lavender and lemongrass, and they also have an unscented version which has a slight coconut smell as the main ingredient is coconut oil. I really like both and switch between the two. The gals at Pure Pit Balm recommend that you go with the unscented version if your skin is super sensitive. Otherwise, choose whatever scent you like!

As for the ingredients, its really cool to see 71% of the ingredients are organic. I had a hard time getting a clear close up, but the ingredients are: coconut oil, arrowroot powder, aluminum-free baking soda & essential oil. Nothing artificial.

This is seriously all I use when I apply it, you don’t need more than that. It takes a little bit of getting used to applying this way versus with a deodorant stick, but I totally don’t mind it at all! I find there is virtually no dry time as it sinks into the skin very quickly, and I’ve had no issues with it staining any of my clothes. A little goes a long way!

Where To Get It?

If you’re local to the Vancouver BC area, its sold at a few retail locations. Check their store locator.

Or, you get buy it online through purepitbalm.ca. The price is totally reasonable. Its $12 a jar, and shipping is $10 whether you order 1 or 2 jars. May as well get 2 and give it to the kids if they’re at that age, or have an extra for your gym bag!
