Favorite Find: Lower Sugar Juice

Happy Wednesday Friends! This post is getting out a little later than usual.  The day went by fast! Work, preschool, errands, appointment, and now its dark outside!

I must admit, I’m not a big ‘juice’ person.  I don’t have it very often as I see it as empty calories.  But sometimes, I just want it, as plain water gets boring, and I’m not a fan of Crystal Light as it contains aspartame.  We don’t have the stevia sweetened version in Canada.

I was sent a sample of Trop50 by Tropicana, so I could sample it and write a review if I wish.

To be honest, its probably not something I would have picked up at the store as I usually assume the low cal juices are sweetened with sucralose (another sweetener I don’t use).  But I was surprised to learn that it was sweetened with stevia!  So I was totally willing to give it a try.

I must say, its really delicious!  The Pomegranate Blueberry had a really nice berry flavor.  Its really dark, like a strong grape juice.  I actually added a bit of water to dilute it, since I’m not used to drinking juice straight up.

Here’s the Ingredients:

I couldn’t taste stevia at all, just tasted like regular juice, so that’s a success in my book!

Sienna loved it too (she rarely gets juice, so I wasn’t surprised).  I also diluted it for her.

Even if you drank it straight up, the nutrition isn’t bad….

Its literally half the calories and sugar/carbs as regular juice, so its a good alternative in my opinion.

I actually went out and bought the orange no-pulp more recently, and its good too!

While I’d never suggest drinking juice over plain water, using something like Trop50 in moderation can help you increase your water intake if you use it to give your water a bit of flavor.  Much better than soda though, so if you’re trying to kick that habit, mixing a bit of this with no-sodium plain soda would be a great alternative to regular or diet soda!

QUESTION: Do you ever drink juice?
