Carrot Cake Protein Shake

If you love carrot cake like me, you’ll love this!

You’ll Need:

1 scoop vanilla whey protein (31g)
1/4 cup carrot, grated
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/2 tsp maple extract
1/2 cup water
Pinch of cloves
Pinch of nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
5-6 ice cubes
1 packet of stevia (or 10 drops of vanilla stevia liquid)


Enjoy your carrot cake in drinkable form! I had with an ounce of raw walnuts to get the full effect.

Cals: 160  Fat: 2.6g  Carbs: 7.2g  Fibre: 1.6g  Sugars: 2.3g  Protein: 25g

    Do you have any suggestions for substituting the maple extract without changing the flavor too much?

      The maple extract doesn’t lend a huge amount of maple flavor, so you could easily leave it out. Or if you wanted to, add a touch of real maple syrup.

    is this shake better for post workout or for a pre workout?

      It would be fine for either. After a workout though, you’ll probably want to have some carbs with it though.
